Virender Sehwag questions Jadeja's ability to win matches for Rajasthan Royals after SRH defeat.
Ravindra Jadeja’s role in the Rajasthan Royals setup has come under serious scrutiny following their hefty defeat to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Former India opener Virender Sehwag has dropped a bombshell, suggesting that Jadeja simply can’t be the game-changer RR desperately needs. After a miserable outing, where RR collapsed under pressure, Sehwag pointed out that Jadeja’s approach lacks the firepower to turn the tide when the chips are down.
In their last match, Jadeja scored a respectable 45 off 32 balls while batting at number six, but let’s be real: it was too little, too late. Sehwag highlighted that Jadeja is more of a stabilising act than a match-winner. With a strike rate under 130, he’s been playing more as a support batter rather than stepping up when RR’s top order falters. Sehwag bluntly stated, “None of the others are in form... those were not match-winning runs.”
As Rajasthan gears up for their next clash against Kolkata Knight Riders, the pressure is mounting for the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel to deliver. Jadeja, despite being an experienced hand, finds himself in a position where he can’t shoulder the responsibility alone. With RR's batting woes glaring, the question remains: can anyone else step up when the top three fail?
