Ambati Rayudu is back in the game, but this time it’s off the pitch! The former India and Chennai Super Kings batter has been appointed the Head of Cricketing Operations at the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). After making his First-Class debut for Hyderabad in 2001, Rayudu is ready to steer his home state’s cricket back to glory.

With a three-year plan in place, Rayudu is all about transparency and fairness in selection across all age groups. He’s made it clear that he wants to keep cricket and administration apart, focusing on player welfare to create a thriving cricket culture in Hyderabad. “Cricket should be run with players being the priority,” he stated, reflecting his commitment to the sport.

Rayudu also hinted at modernising operations, with a player contract system in the works, aiming to avoid human interference in selections. This is a crucial step toward professionalising the game at the grassroots level. The Hyderabad cricket scene could be on the cusp of a revival, and fans can’t wait to see what this new era brings!

With Rayudu at the helm, could we soon see the next generation of Indian stars emerging from Hyderabad?
