A sensational spell sees Chakravarthy claim the milestone in style!
Varun Chakravarthy is making headlines, folks! In a thrilling outing during Match No. 28 of the IPL between KKR and RR, he struck early, dismissing the dangerous Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in his very first over. With that wicket, Chakravarthy not only showcased his skills but also became the fastest Indian spinner to reach 200 T20 wickets, doing so in just 155 innings.
The wicket was a classic display of his craft. Chakravarthy pitched it full with plenty of flight, tempting the young Sooryavanshi into a big slog. The ball went high, and Ramandeep Singh pulled off a brilliant catch at deep mid-wicket. Chakravarthy didn’t stop there; he finished with remarkable figures of 3 wickets for just 14 runs, adding Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal to his tally. Talk about a statement!
In the race to 200 wickets, Chakravarthy surpassed Kuldeep Yadav, who took 160 innings, and sits just behind Arshdeep Singh, who got there in 151. This milestone is a testament to his evolution since starting his IPL journey with Punjab Kings in 2019 and now captaining Tamil Nadu in domestic T20s. The mystery spinner is definitely on a roll, and we can't wait to see what he conjures up next!
