Social media is buzzing with gossip about a supposed rift between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka and captain Rishabh Pant. Ahead of their crucial match against Punjab Kings, Goenka took the opportunity to squash these claims during an appearance on NDTV’s 'Walk The Talk'. He dismissed the allegations as fabrications, stating, "With Rishabh, there has never been a scolding situation, ever."
Goenka also acknowledged that his expressive nature might lead to misunderstandings. "I’m learning to keep my hands behind, you know. You can take an angle out of context," he admitted. The owner emphasised that he respects the expertise of his team and would never interfere with tactical decisions, calling it foolish for a non-cricketer like him to dictate how professionals should play.
Currently, LSG sits in a precarious 8th position on the IPL 2026 points table, having won just 2 out of 5 matches. With a negative run rate and a star-studded top order underperforming, the pressure is mounting. Can they turn their fortunes around against PBKS?
